Inter Milan Appoints Steven Zhang As The New President

Inter Milan has decided to appoint Steven Zhang for the post of new president. Upon this offer, the Chinese businessman has made instant promises that he would successfully lead the club. Zhang would be the 21st president of the club as he is replacing Erick Thohir from Indonesia who was there for 5 years. During his tenure, Inter Milan did not win the major title. Zhang Jindong is the father of Zhang and chairman of Suning Holdings Group. He was responsible for a significant stake in 2016 in the club. In addition, he is the board of directors for 2 years and always accountable for the day to day operations of the club.

Inter has been the 3 times European champions and achieved 18 Serie A titles besides 7 Coppa Italia titles. However, the club has been struggling after it won a Serie A, Champions League, and Coppa Italia treble in 2010 under Jose Mourinho. Luciano Spalletti was the 12th coach after Mourinho’s exit with 6 of those being appointed under Thohir. Unfortunately, they did not succeed to reach to the top of Serie A from 2010 and 2011 although their competitors Juventus have successfully won the Serie A title for last consecutive 7 seasons.

Inter Milan has made a return to the Champions League this season post being absent for 6 years. The competition is getting tougher and hence the board of directors of the club had to take a stern decision to bring in a few changes to ensure that the club gets back its fame once again. Luka Modric is the new subject as far as the new bid of Inter Milan is concerned. Considering so many changes, it seems like the club will show its best performances in the upcoming season and make the club proud as it did a few years ago.
