MILAN BATTLE FOR TEVEZ

Manchester City contract rebel Carlos Tevez has sparked off a transfer tug of war between the two Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan, with the Black and Blues ready to swoop in for the striker with a bid and take him away from the grasp of arch rivals and neighbors AC Milan.

It was reported a few days back that The Devils have already agreed on personal terms with the Argentina international striker and they were only waiting for Manchester City to give the green signal to the move by accepting their offer of a loan deal with a view to a permanent move in the summer.

But Inter Milan is waiting in the wings with an offer reported to be between £ 20 and £ 25 million to take the wayward striker permanently off the hands of The Citizens, which is what they are looking for. However, according to reports that have emerged, Carlos Tevez himself would prefer a move to the Red and Black half of Milan instead of the Black and Blue half and with Milan not willing to part with so much money just now, the deal might just become extremely hard to conclude.

Speaking to the media, Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti admitted that his side were looking to acquire the services of the talented if temperamental striker and that has sparked rumors that they are about to sell playmaker Wesley Sneijder to Manchester United to finance the deal or in swap deal with The Citizens as a sweetener to smooth the deal for Tevez.

However, with Carlos Tevez making up his mind to play for AC Milan and Manchester City likely to accept the offer from Inter Milan, this is one transfer saga that might drag on till the last hour of the January transfer window.

INTER NOT CHASING TEVEZ

Italian giants Inter Milan have ruled themselves out of a transfer tangle involving Manchester City and Carlos Tevez with club president Massimo Moratti saying that his personal demands as well as Manchester City’s asking price for the striker are a bit too much for them to be able to afford.

However, the Argentine international striker was strongly linked with a move to the Italian giants over the summer after it was evident that he was unhappy at Eastlands and wanted to play somewhere which would be closer to his home and it was also reported that Inter had offered around £ 30 million for the striker but nothing came of it at that time.

With Tevez making certain that he would leave The Citizens, whether it is during this transfer window or the next, Inter Milan as well as a host of other clubs including arch rivals AC Milan and Italian powerhouse Juventus, along with Brazilian champions Corinthians and Paris St Germain were linked with the temperamental Argentina international striker but the Inter president moved quickly to rule themselves out of the running for Tevez.

It was also reported at one time that Inter were willing to sale midfielder Wesley Sneijder to finance a move for the striker but Moratti recently revealed in a press release that they had negotiated with Tevez and his advisors over the personal terms of the contract but his demands were deemed to be a bit too high for his liking. Inter have been without a world class striker with the injury to Diego Forlan ruling him out indefinitely and it was reported in the Italian media that Tevez was their first choice to replace the injured Uruguayan in the January transfer window but it seems that Inter Milan will have to do without a decent striker until Forlan gets fully fit.
