The striker Diego Milito and midfielder Esteban Cambiasso will remain sidelined three to four weeks due to injuries suffered during the friendly match in which Japan defeated Argentina 1-0.
In that game, the two Argentine players had hamstring problems in their left leg. Milito was the first to be bothered, so he had to be substituted after 33 minutes, while Cambiasso was out at the end of the first half.
Cambiasso’s injury will keep him away from the fields from 15 to 20 days, while that of his teammate, who is a bit more complicated will be sidelined 20 to 25 days.
Esteban Cambiasso is an Argentine player who began his career in Argentina Juniors in 1996. The following year he went on to play for Real Madrid B, where he remained for two years. In 1998 he returned home to play in the first division with Independiente, there he remained until 2001. He then went to the River Plate team with which he won the Clausura Tournament.
In 2002, Cambiasso has the opportunity to return to Real Madrid team and debuted in the Spanish La Liga in September. With Cambiasso, Real Madrid won the European Super Cup, Spanish League, Intercontinental Cup and the Super Cup in Spain.
In 2004, Inter Milan acquired the services of Cambiasso, who has worked with the team in the conquest of an Italian Cup, Super Cup and the Italian League. After participating in the 2006 Germany World Cup, Inter renewed its relationship with Cambiasso, who will remain at the club until 2014.
On the other hand Diego Milito is a player who has also developed an international career. He began professionally in 1999 at Racing Club in Argentina until 2004, when he went to play with Genoa. He lasted only one season in the Italian club. Next he went to Spain to join Real Zaragoza, where he was one of the top scorers with 15 goals through 2008. The following year he returned to Genoa, where he established himself as one of the best strikers in the Italian League.
In 2009, Inter paid 25 million euros for Milito’s transfer, who in his first game scored two goals that gave the 2-0 win against Milan. Since then, his career has grown significantly and he has become a major contributor to the successes of the Beneamata. Among recent achievements with Inter Milito are the Scudetto and Champions League 2009/10.
These two players are forced to miss the following commitments in the league and one of the most important for the Nerazzurris, the match against Tottenham Hotspur on the third round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
In the Champions League, Inter started its first round of group stage with a 2-2 draw with FC Twente. The second meeting resulted in a 4-0 win against the Germans Werder Bremen. This win put Inter in the lead in Group A with four points. It is expected that the two Argentine attackers are fully recovered for the next round of the Champions League, where they will face, this time on the road, against Tottenham on 2 November.
With regard to the Italian League, Inter has suffered its ups and downs that have kept it in a fierce battle for first place. The team is currently in third place in the Calcio with 14 points, two behind the leader Lazio.
In December, Inter will face a tough rival -Lazio- level when the team recieves them at their stadium.
