ANDREA UNSURE ON FUTURE

Inter Milan interim manager Andrea Stramaccioni is of the opinion that the club has already made a decision on his future. Inter Milan decided to promote youth team coach Andrea Stramaccioni in order to handle the first-team affairs for the remainder of the season after the sacking of former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri.

However, Andrea Stramaccioni has done quite impressive job since taking over from Ranieri. He has now managed to put Inter Milan as one of the front-runners for finishing in the third position, which will ensure Champions League qualification for the club next season. It is very much the need of the hour for Inter Milan given the way they have been struggling with a lot of financial difficulties in recent seasons.

In order to win the Champions League along with the famous treble a few seasons ago, Inter Milan spent a lot of money on players like Sneijder and Diego Milito. Even though they have been spectacular signings, their astronomical wage bills can be supported only with regular appearance in the group stages of the Champions League. The appearance of the club in the group stages alone will guarantee them around £ 20 million-£ 25 million. Hence, there have been many calls for Andrea Stramaccioni’s position to make permanent, although the manager himself is of the opinion that his future has already been decided.

“President Massimo Moratti is free to choose what he thinks is best and I think he’s already made a decision. I believe he knows what he wants to do. I won’t go back to the youth team. I could have spent a second season with them had all of this not happened this term. In terms of my own personal development, it would not be right for me to go back there,” Stramaccioni told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
